Life is a hideous thing, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous. Science, already oppressive with its shocking revelations, will perhaps be the ultimate exterminator of our human species––if separate species we be––for its reserve of unguessed horrors could never be borne by mortal brains if loosed upon the world.

i plan to travel the world to pass the time. east asia next? i think china's an intuitive place. the countryside of asia is mass inexpensive, and the urban depresses me

What a hideous, beautiful thing.
To say its hideous is subjective. I believe that it can likely fit the full spectrum of subjective associations, including but not limited to: hideous, wondrous, viral, supportive, parasitic, and beautiful. One thing that life is, is life, and that's all we know. Everything else that we think to presume or assume about it or its nature is tied to our preexisting views and morals. We do right at the same time we do wrong, it just depends on who's answering in regards to the consequences as to how it is subjectively defined.
I do agree that science could be the downfall, though it could very well be our savior. We'll never know until we invest faith in whichever side we take. Faith is believing without truly knowing and that's the best we can expect without verifiable fact.
